Let’s face it, its hard to be the one “On Duty” with little people all day. Its even harder, in my opinion, to do that AND run the house (i.e. groceries, cooking, cleaning, gardening, being a good spouse, planning, organizing, budgeting” .
Up until recently I was barely hanging on by a thread, and only when I had my third little critter was I thrust into the world of having my shit together. Sure, before I could whip a dinner together and made it to our activities on time but I wasn’t consistent and wasn’t always finding joy in it. After having the third baby, I had a mini-meltdown and realized if I was going to ever leave my house and have a life I needed to get my head in the game.
Sometimes when you start a new journey you need to hit a lot of bumps along the way to make sure you are on the right path for the right reasons. I started sharing my writing on my blog after I had Everly (almost three years ago now!) I had no idea how to do this, where to start and was extremely intimidated by all the other amazing bloggers out there writing and earning an income from their efforts.
As many of you guys know I am facilitating the Diabetes Prevention Program over at the YMCA. I am coaching a group of people through lifestyle changes that can hep reduce their risk for developing Type ll Diabetes and I love love love it! It’s been really eye opening for me to see just how challenging behavior change can really be. It’s also making me do some “checking in” with myself on how I handle some of my own hard to break habits. Continue reading
Multi-level marketing seems to be all the rage these days. Stay at home parents are making a living off posting on social media about products they are now using. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, then head over to your Facebook or Instagram feed and let me know how many posts you are seeing with things like: before and after photos using Rodan + Fields skin care, or the many uses of Young Living Essential Oils or Beach Body 30 day challenges or the Plexus “pink drink” slimming supplements or 31 Gifts or Juice Plus whole food vitamins or (fill in the blank here). If you still have no idea what I’m talking about then your friends just haven’t started selling something yet.
It’s amazing how tiny foods like nuts, seeds and leaves can deliver big benefits to our bodies. In a culture where bigger is thought to be better these tiny superfoods can hold their own. Superfoods have been part of a wellness trend over the last decade that has brought to light the importance of eating foods that help fight disease and provide our bodies with essential nutrients.
